The four-day Albertian Workshop on Research Methodology and Application of SPSS for Data Analysis was inaugurated by Rev. Dr. Fr. Clement Valluvassery, Manager of Albertian Institute of Management and Vice Chancellor of Archdiocese of Verapoly. The participants of the workshop were delegates from corporates, universities and research and management institutes from various parts of the country. The function was presided over by Capt. Prof. Robert Stanley, Principal, St. Albert’s College, Ernakulam. Dr. Francis Cherunilam, Director, Albertian Institute of Management and Prof. Leslie J Pallath, Director, St. Albert’s Institutions of Higher Education, spoke on the occasion. The resource persons of the workshop were Dr. Sebastian Rupert Mampilly, Dr. T.M Jacob, Dr. Alice Mani Jacob and Mr. Jose William.

Masterwords 2008 - The Annual Change Management Lecture Series

Albertian Institute of Management organised its first session of “MasterWords” The Annual Change Management Lecture series on February 3rd 2008. The First session in the series was inaugurated by Shri. Oscar Fernandes, Hon. Union Minister for Labour and Employment,Government of India. In his inaugural lecture, Oscar Fernandes pointed out how the growth in the Indian Economy has resulted in bringing up new dimensions in Labour Market.

The function was well attended by distinguished members from Industry, faculty members from nearby Colleges and Universities as well as student community, Dr. Francis Cherunilam, Director of AIM, welcomed the Union Minister to the function chaired by Rev. Dr. Clement Valluvassery, Manager of AIM. Prof. K.V Thomas MLA and Prof. Lelise J Pallath- Director St. Albert’s Institutions of Higher Educations felicitated the gathering.

National Seminar on External Sector of India - Reforms, Challenges and Opportunities

The Albertian Institute of Management, Cochin organized a National Seminar on “External Sector of India – Reforms, Challenges and Opportunities” on February 1, 2008. The keynote address was delivered by Mr. K.T. Chacko IAS (Rtd.), Director of Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi. This was followed by a panel discussion by eminent scholars in the field of Economics and Finance namely Mr.C .J. Mathew IAS, Development Commissioner Cochin Special Economic Zone; Mr.K.P. Padmakumar, Executive Director ,Muthoot Finance; Mr Venugopal. C. Govind ( Varma and Varma Chartered Accountants)and Mr. Bhoodes .R.K. ( MD Asian Commodities ). The seminar was widely noted for its audience comprising of leading personalities from industries, members of faculty from reputed colleges as well as students from leading b-schools in and around Cochin.
